Install Pixel & Oak POS on Windows
Download PixelAndOak-POS-Setup.exe, open it, let Windows run it, and the till opens on its setup screen. It takes about five minutes.
What you need
- Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, with a screen of at least 1024 × 700.
- About 115 MB of download. After that the till works offline.
- A receipt printer is optional. You can connect it later.

The link always gives you the newest version. The file goes to your Downloads folder.
Run the installer
- Open PixelAndOak-POS-Setup.exe from your Downloads folder.
- If Windows shows a blue box, Windows protected your PC, click More info, then Run anyway.
- Choose where to install it. The folder it suggests is fine. Click Install.
- Click Finish. Pixel & Oak POS opens on its setup screen, and there is a Pixel & Oak POS shortcut on your desktop and in the Start menu.
What it puts on your PC

Only one copy runs at a time. Opening it again brings the open till to the front.
Moving to a new PC
- On the old PC, save a copy: Settings → Backups → Extra copy on a USB stick → Save a copy to USB…
- Install the till on the new PC.
- On the first setup screen, click Replacing a PC or recovering after a crash? Restore from a backup instead → and choose From a USB stick or file (or From the cloud if online backups are on).
- The licence is tied to the PC, so message us the new PC's Device ID for a new key. Trial and licence.
Uninstall
Save a backup to a USB stick first. Then open Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps, find Pixel & Oak POS and choose Uninstall. Uninstalling also removes the start-with-Windows entry.
