Hire a Bubble Developer Who Also Knows When to Leave Bubble

Bubble is a good way to get a real web app in front of users without a large budget. Most of the trouble with Bubble apps comes from how they were built, not from Bubble itself: data types that fight the editor, searches running on every page load, and privacy rules that were never set.

We build new Bubble apps, repair existing ones, and plan migrations to code for products that have outgrown it. Because we also write code, we can tell you honestly which of those you need.

This is for you if

  • ✓You want to launch quickly and Bubble suits what you are building
  • ✓Your Bubble app has become slow, fragile, or expensive in workload units
  • ✓You are not sure your privacy rules really stop users seeing each other's data
  • ✓You are hitting Bubble's limits and want a planned route into real code

This is probably not for you if

  • ✕You need a native mobile app with heavy offline use or device features — Bubble is the wrong tool for that, and we will say so

We would rather tell you now than take the project and disappoint you.

Worth knowing: Bubble bills by workload units, a measure of how hard its servers work for your app. A slow app is usually an expensive one too: the same unconstrained searches and repeated workflows that make pages sluggish also burn through your plan. Fixing the data structure often cuts both the load time and the bill.

What you get

New Bubble apps

Data types designed before the first page, reusable elements, and workflows a future developer can follow.

Privacy rules tested

We use your app as a logged-in stranger would. If a page or the Data API leaks another user's records, you hear it from us instead of a customer.

Speed and workload fixes

Searches constrained on the server, data structures flattened where they hurt, and backend workflows scheduled sensibly.

Plugins and APIs

The API Connector set up properly for Stripe, OpenAI, your CRM and anything else with an API, with private keys kept off the page.

Rescue of half-built apps

Picking up where a previous developer stopped, starting with an honest assessment of what is worth keeping.

Migration off Bubble

When you outgrow it: data exported, the app rebuilt in Next.js and Postgres, and users moved across with a sign-in link.

Stay on Bubble or move to code?

Moving off Bubble is expensive and only worth it for a reason you can name. These are the ones that hold up:

  • Performance you cannot fix — The data structure and searches are already optimized and pages are still slow for your users.
  • Cost at scale — Your workload bill is growing faster than revenue, and the heavy workflows are core to the product.
  • Ownership — Investors or a buyer want code and infrastructure you control. Bubble apps cannot be exported as source code.
  • Features Bubble cannot do well — Real-time collaboration, heavy computation, or native mobile features beyond what wrappers offer.

If none of those apply, staying on Bubble and fixing how the app is built is usually the better use of your money.

What we work with

Bubble for what it does well, and ordinary code for what it does not.

Bubble

Editor, backend workflows, privacy rules, option sets, reusable elements

Integrations

API Connector, Stripe, OpenAI, Zapier, Make, n8n

Data

Bubble database, or an external Postgres or Supabase back end

When you leave

Next.js, TypeScript, Postgres, Supabase Auth

Not sure whether Bubble is what you actually need? Send over what you are trying to fix and we will tell you straight — including if a smaller job would do it.

How it works

1

Look at the app

For existing apps, a short paid review of the editor, the database and the privacy rules, with findings in writing.

2

Fixed quote

One price for the agreed work. If we find something worse along the way, you hear about it before we spend money on it.

3

Build on a copy

Changes go into the development version first. The live app is only touched when the change is deployed.

4

Hand over

A short written guide to how the app is structured, so you or your next developer are not guessing.

Questions

How much does it cost to hire a Bubble developer?

Fixed-price projects start at $3,000 for a small app or a defined set of fixes. A full first version of a Bubble app usually runs $5,000–$15,000. Freelance Bubble developers commonly bill $40–$120 an hour; a fixed quote mainly means you know the total before you start.

Is Bubble good enough for a real business?

For many businesses, yes. Plenty of companies run on Bubble with paying customers. It struggles with heavy real-time features, complex computation and native mobile apps. If your product is mostly forms, lists, dashboards and payments, Bubble can carry it a long way.

Can you fix a slow Bubble app?

Usually. The common causes are searches running on page load, lists filtered in the browser instead of with search constraints, nested repeating groups, and data types that force extra lookups. Each has a known fix, and most apps improve a great deal without a rebuild.

Can you migrate my Bubble app to code?

Yes. Data comes out through Bubble's Data API or CSV export, the app is rebuilt in Next.js and Postgres, and both run side by side until the new one is proven. Bubble does not export passwords, so users set a new one through a sign-in link.

Can you connect Bubble to my other tools?

Yes. The API Connector talks to almost anything with a REST API: Stripe, OpenAI, HubSpot, Google Sheets or your own back end. Keys are marked private so they never reach the browser, and slow APIs run in backend workflows so pages do not hang.
