For agencies

The problemA plugin update broke your client's site, and your phone is ringing.

White Label WordPress Development for Agencies That Cannot Miss a Deadline

In shortWhite label WordPress development means your agency hands WordPress builds, maintenance and fixes to a partner who works under your brand, so the client never sees us. We work with fixed quotes and an NDA: custom WordPress builds from $2,500 in 3–6 weeks, WooCommerce from $3,000, and maintenance at wholesale per-site rates.

Plenty of agencies sell WordPress because clients ask for it, then quietly dread maintaining it. A contractor pushes plugin updates straight to the live site and a client store goes down. A four-week build drifts into months. An urgent ticket waits three days for a reply. Small edits keep pulling your developers off paid work. And your client calls you, not the vendor, every single time.

We take the WordPress work off your desk under your brand: custom themes, WooCommerce, headless builds, maintenance and the rescue jobs nobody wants. Builds happen on staging, and on our Growth and Commerce plans every update is tested on a staging copy before it reaches a live site. Scope and acceptance criteria are written into every quote. Haider Ali, our founder, leads every project himself, with AI agents doing the supporting work. You keep the client and the margin.

Animation: a deploy config pushes a client site straight to production with no backup and the vendor name on the report, all flagged, then the fixed lines deploy to staging with a backup under your agency name, and three checks pass.

Sound familiar?

What usually goes wrong with white label WordPress, and what we do instead.

Updates pushed to the live site with no staging copy

Lost orders, angry customers and a client who calls you, not the vendor. It is the fastest way to lose an account.

What we doOn our Growth and Commerce plans, every update is tested on a staging copy first, with an off-site backup to roll back to. Project work is always built and tested on staging.

A four-week WordPress build that turned into months

You quoted your client a date and a price. Every extra month is unbilled project management and a strained relationship.

What we doA fixed quote with written scope and milestones before work starts, and progress you can check on staging at any hour.

Urgent tickets that wait days for a reply

The client's site stays broken while you have nothing to tell them, and they start wondering why they pay you.

What we doReplies within 24 hours and same-day starts on real emergencies. If we cannot start the same day, we tell you at once so you can go elsewhere.

The job is marked done and nothing actually works

Weeks wasted, and you have to explain to your client why the finished work is still broken.

What we doAcceptance criteria written into the quote and checked on staging before sign-off. One named lead, Haider, signs off every deploy.

The invoice is not what was quoted

You already priced the job to your client, so every surprise fee comes straight out of your margin.

What we doOne fixed quote before work starts, no hourly meter, and changes re-quoted before any work happens.

Small client edits are eating our build hours

Billable build time lost to low-value tickets, projects turned away, and care-plan revenue left on the table.

What we doWhite label maintenance and small edits under your brand, with a monthly report you forward to your client as your own.

Worth knowing: WordPress rescue work is the most profitable thing most agencies never quote for. A client with a hacked or broken site is not price-shopping, and if you have a partner who can turn it around quickly, that is a service you can sell at a premium without building the capability in-house.

What we take off your desk

Custom theme development

Hand-built block themes rather than a page builder wrapped in a child theme. Faster, easier to maintain, and it will not break when the builder ships a major version.

WooCommerce builds

Product architecture, checkout fixes, payment and shipping integrations, and the performance work a store needs once the catalog grows.

Headless WordPress

Keep WordPress as the CMS your client already knows, deliver the front end in Next.js. The editing experience they want, the speed you want to be judged on.

Maintenance under your brand

We run the updates (tested on staging on the Growth and Commerce plans), the backups and the monitoring; your client sees a report with your logo on it. Resell it at whatever margin you like.

Your name, not ours

Branded reports, unbranded staging URLs, no vendor credit in code comments or theme headers, and no emails from us to your client.

Rescue and recovery

Hacked sites, white screens, failed migrations, and abandoned half-built projects. Quoted after a short paid diagnostic.

Migrations

Between hosts, into or out of WordPress, or from a dying page builder onto something maintainable. Staged and tested before anything switches over.

Outsourcing WordPress development: white label partner vs. freelancer vs. hiring

Use this on us as well as on anyone else you’re considering.

Time to start

A white label partner starts this week. A hire takes weeks of recruiting. A freelancer starts fast, but the first project is where you find out whether they are any good.

Updates and staging

Our Growth and Commerce plans test every update on a staging copy first. Ask any freelancer or vendor how they do it; many update live sites directly.

Who carries an overrun

With a fixed quote, an overrun on the agreed scope is ours. With hourly work it is yours, after you have already quoted your client.

Client relationship

Stays yours under an NDA and no-poach. Some freelancers will happily take your client directly.

Cost in a quiet month

A partner costs nothing between projects. A salaried developer costs the same in a slow month as a busy one.

How it works

1

Brief and NDA

NDA signed first, then the brief, the site access and the client's expectations.

2

Fixed quote

One price with written scope, milestones and acceptance criteria.

3

Build on staging

A staging URL you can check at any hour, with a short written update every week.

4

QA against the criteria

Every acceptance point checked on staging before you sign off.

5

Branded handover

Deployed to the live site, with handover notes and reports carrying your brand.

Questions people actually ask

How much does white label WordPress development cost?

Project work is fixed-quote: custom WordPress builds start at $2,500 and WooCommerce projects at $3,000. Maintenance is wholesale per site, with volume rates from three sites upward. Rescue work is quoted after a short paid diagnostic, because quoting a hacked site unseen is guesswork. You set the price your client pays.

Can you white label ongoing maintenance, not just builds?

Yes, and it is the easiest recurring revenue an agency can add. We do the work, you receive a report branded as yours to pass on, and you set the retail price. For reference, our own retail care plans are $99, $199 and $399 a month, so you can see the room for your margin.

Will my client ever find out you built it?

Not from us. Reports, staging links and handover notes carry your brand, there is no vendor credit in the code or theme headers, and we never email or call your client. If you want us on a technical call, we join as part of your team.

Who exactly works on my client's site?

Haider Ali, our founder and the only human at Pixel & Oak. He leads every project and signs off every deploy, with AI agents doing supporting work such as testing and documentation. Nothing is passed to unnamed subcontractors, so you always know who touched your client's site.

How are plugin and core updates tested, and what happens when one breaks something?

On our Growth and Commerce plans, updates go to a staging copy of the site first. If an update breaks something there, it never reaches the live site until the conflict is fixed. On the Essential plan, updates run on the live site with daily off-site backups behind them. Either way, if something slips through, we roll back and fix it.

Who owns the code, the hosting and the backups if we stop working together?

You or your client do. The code goes into your repository, and the hosting, domain and plugin licenses stay in your accounts or your client's. If you leave, there is nothing to hand back and no lock-in. You walk away with everything you need to keep running the site.

Do you work with page builders like Elementor or Divi?

We maintain and fix them, yes. For new builds we will usually recommend against them and explain why in terms you can pass to your client, mainly performance and long-term maintenance cost. If the client insists, we build it properly in their builder rather than argue.

How fast can you take on emergency work?

Same day for genuine emergencies: a site down, a hacked site, a broken checkout. Tell us it is urgent and it goes to the front of the queue. If we cannot start the same day, we tell you straight away so you can make other plans.

Is white labeling legal?

Yes. In general terms, white labeling is ordinary subcontracting: you hire a partner, usually under an NDA, and you stay responsible to your client for the work. Check your own client contracts for any rule about subcontractors. This is general information, not legal advice.
