The problemYour developer stopped answering, and the site still needs someone when it breaks.
Website Maintenance Services for WordPress, Shopify, Next.js and Webflow
In shortWebsite maintenance from Pixel & Oak means a named person keeps your site updated, backed up, monitored and fixed, whatever it is built on: WordPress, Shopify, Next.js or Webflow. You get a monthly report and a fast reply when something breaks. WordPress plans start at $99 a month; other platforms are quoted after a free site check.
Most people looking for website maintenance services are in one of two spots. Their developer stopped answering, or the site broke and they realized nobody was looking after it. Every site needs the same few things whatever it is built on: updates, backups that actually restore, someone watching whether it is up, and someone who picks up when it breaks.
We maintain WordPress, WooCommerce, Shopify, Next.js and Webflow sites on a monthly plan. Every plan starts with an access audit so all logins sit in your name, then runs on scheduled updates, tested backups, uptime checks and a monthly report. We are an agency of one: Haider Ali directs the AI agents that do the routine checks and signs off every change to a live site.
What owners tell us when they first get in touch, often as the exact question they typed into Google.
Our developer stopped answering and nobody else knows the site
Logins, hosting and the domain sit with one person. When they disappear, a small fix becomes a week of detective work, and a renewal can lapse without anyone noticing.
What we doEvery plan starts with an access audit: we list each login, host, domain and plugin or app, move ownership into your name where it is not, and write it all down.
Why is my website not working?
A site that is down or throwing errors loses every lead and sale while it is broken, and owners usually hear about it from a customer.
What we doUptime checks every minute alert us when the site goes down, and we start on it within your plan's response time, not whenever someone happens to notice.
The browser says our website is not secure
An expired SSL certificate puts a full-page warning in front of every visitor, and most of them leave instead of clicking through it.
What we doWe watch certificate expiry and auto-renewal, and fix mixed-content warnings, so the padlock never quietly lapses.
An update broke the site and there was no backup
A plugin, theme or app update breaks a page or the checkout, and with no recent backup the only way back is rebuilding it by hand.
What we doDaily off-site backups that we test by restoring them, and updates applied with a rollback ready, tested on a staging copy first where the platform allows it.
Changes I make are not showing up on the website
Caching, a CDN or a builder's publish step hides your edits, so you change the same page three times and assume the site is broken.
What we doWe find which cache or publish step is in the way, clear it, and set the site up so your edits show when you save them.
Why is my website not showing up on Google?
A stray noindex tag, a broken sitemap or downtime during a crawl can drop pages from search, and nothing on the site itself looks wrong.
What we doMonthly Search Console checks for pages dropped from the index, crawl errors and sitemap problems, listed in your report with what we fixed.
This is for you if
✓Your developer has moved on, and nobody else knows how the site works
✓The site makes you money, and you hear about problems from customers first
✓You run more than one platform, such as WordPress for the blog and Shopify for the store
✓You want one monthly price and a person who replies, not a ticket queue
This is probably not for you if
✕Your site needs a full redesign. That is a project, not a monthly plan
✕You need someone on site in person. We are a remote studio and work online
We would rather tell you now than take the project and disappoint you.

Worth knowing: We are a remote studio with no local office, so we cannot be the "near me" option, and we will not pretend to be. Almost all website maintenance happens online anyway: updates, backups, monitoring and fixes do not need anyone in the room. If your site runs on WordPress, our WordPress maintenance plans list exactly what each tier includes.

Every login, host, domain and integration listed and moved into your name, so you are never locked out again.
Scheduled updates
Core, theme, plugin, app and dependency updates applied on a schedule, with a rollback ready.
Tested backups

Fixes when it breaks

What do website maintenance services include?
The labels vary between companies, but a proper plan should cover six things whatever your site is built on. If a quote leaves one of these out, ask why:
→Updates — The site, its plugins or apps, and its code dependencies kept current, with a way back if an update breaks something.
→Backups that restore — Off-site copies on a schedule, and proof that they can actually be restored.
→Monitoring — Someone is told within minutes when the site goes down or a certificate is about to expire.
→Security — Scans for malware and known vulnerabilities, and hardened logins.
→Search health — Regular checks that Google can still find and index the pages that matter.
→A person who replies — A named contact and a response time in writing, not an inbox that may or may not be read.
What each platform needs from a maintenance plan
Platform
What the platform handles
What still needs a person
WordPress and WooCommerce
Very little: you or your host own the server, core and plugins
Plugin and core updates, backups, security, checkout testing, performance
Shopify
Hosting, security patches and checkout
Apps and their side effects, theme updates, integrations, speed, broken links
Next.js
Hosting and scaling, if on Vercel or Cloudflare
Framework and package updates, security advisories, builds, forms and APIs
Webflow
Hosting, SSL and platform updates
Integrations and forms, CMS hygiene, speed, Search Console health
Hosted platforms such as Shopify and Webflow need less technical upkeep than WordPress, so their plans cost less. The work moves from server updates to apps, integrations and checks.
How much does website maintenance cost per month?
It depends on the platform, how much the site changes and how fast you need a reply when it breaks. A brochure site that rarely changes needs far less than a store taking payments every hour. Our WordPress plans are $99, $199 and $399 a month, from brochure sites to WooCommerce stores with a two-hour emergency response.
For Shopify, Next.js and Webflow sites, we quote after a free site check, because the work depends on the apps and integrations involved. To estimate your own costs first, try the free website maintenance cost calculator in our tools section.

Who works on it
AI agents from our Engineering, Quality & Security and Design & Film divisions do the work, in parallel. Haider Ali, founder and CEO, agrees the plan with you and signs off everything before it reaches you.
Our WordPress plans are $99, $199 and $399 a month, depending on how often the site changes and how fast you need a reply. Shopify, Next.js and Webflow sites are quoted after a free site check, because the work depends on the apps and integrations involved. Every plan is month to month with no contract.
What is included in website maintenance?
Updates with a rollback ready, daily off-site backups that we test by restoring, uptime checks every minute, SSL and domain expiry alerts, security scans, monthly Search Console checks and a plain-language report. When something breaks, a named person picks it up within your plan's response time.
Why is my website not working?
The usual causes are an expired domain or SSL certificate, a hosting outage, an update that broke a plugin, theme or app, or a payment that lapsed on the hosting account. Check whether the domain and hosting are paid first. If you cannot find the cause, send us the address and we will tell you what we see.
Why is my website not showing up on Google?
Common causes are a noindex tag left on from development, a robots.txt file blocking crawlers, a broken sitemap, or a very new site Google has not crawled yet. Google Search Console shows which pages are indexed and why others are not. Our plans check it every month.
Do Shopify and Webflow sites need maintenance?
Less than WordPress, because the platform handles hosting and security patches. They still need someone to watch apps and integrations, theme updates, forms, broken links, speed and search health. A Shopify app update can break a page as easily as a WordPress plugin can.
Can you take over a site another developer built?
Yes, that is the most common way clients come to us. We start with an access audit, move every login into your name, take a full backup, and write down how the site works before we change anything. If the site is in worse shape than expected, we tell you before the first month starts.
Do you only maintain WordPress sites?
No. We maintain WordPress, WooCommerce, Shopify, Next.js and Webflow sites. WordPress has its own page with fixed plans, because it needs the most hands-on upkeep. The other platforms are quoted after a free site check.
Do you offer website maintenance near me?
We are a remote studio with no local office, and we will not claim one. Website maintenance is almost entirely online: updates, backups, monitoring and fixes do not need anyone on site. You deal directly with Haider Ali by email, and he replies within 24 hours.
Is there a contract?
No. Plans run month to month and you can cancel at any time. Every login, backup and piece of documentation stays in your name, so leaving is as simple as telling us.
