Insurance Software Development for the Gaps Your Core System Leaves
Most insurance businesses already run a core system: an agency management system, a policy administration platform, or carrier portals they have no control over. The time goes in the gaps between them, where people copy data from one screen into another.
We build the software that fills those gaps: intake and quote forms that collect complete information, portals for brokers and clients, claims intake, renewal tracking and commission reconciliation, connected to the systems you keep.
This is for you if
- ✓You are an agency, MGA or broker keying the same data into several carrier and agency systems
- ✓Your quote or application form is a PDF that customers fill in badly
- ✓Claims arrive by phone and email with half the information missing
- ✓Renewals, certificates or commission statements eat hours every week
This is probably not for you if
- ✕You are a carrier replacing a core policy administration or billing system — that is a project for a specialist platform and a large team, and we are not the right size for it
We would rather tell you now than take the project and disappoint you.
Worth knowing: Insurance data is sensitive and often regulated, so the most important design decision is what not to collect. If a form only needs the last four digits of something, it should only ask for those. Collect less, keep it for less time, and encrypt what remains: it shrinks both the risk and the paperwork.
What you get
Quote and application forms
Multi-step forms that adapt to each line of business, check answers as they go, and send complete submissions instead of half-filled PDFs.
Broker and client portals
Secure logins where clients see their policies and documents, and brokers track submissions without phoning underwriting.
Claims intake
First notice of loss collected online with photos and documents, and routed to the right handler with nothing missing.
Renewals and reminders
Expiring policies flagged weeks ahead, with tasks and emails generated automatically.
Certificates and documents
Certificates of insurance and standard documents generated from policy data instead of edited by hand.
Commission tracking
Carrier statements imported and matched against expected commission, with discrepancies listed rather than lost.
Working with the systems you already have
We do not ask you to replace your agency management or policy system. Most offer an API, a scheduled export, or support for ACORD standard forms and data, and that is usually enough to keep records in step. Where a system offers no way in, we say so before quoting instead of building on something fragile.
- Agency management systems — Client, policy and activity data synced where the vendor provides an API or export.
- Rating and quoting — Quote details passed to the rating tools you use, so staff do not key them twice.
- E-signature and payments — Applications signed online, and premiums or deposits taken through a payment provider.
- Email and documents — Inbound email and attachments filed against the right client and policy automatically.

Questions
How much does custom insurance software cost?
Focused tools such as an intake portal or a renewal tracker start at $8,000. Broker portals with several integrations usually run $20,000–$50,000. Each phase has a fixed price.
Is it secure enough for policyholder data?
We build with encryption in transit and at rest, permissions checked on the server, audit logs, and retention rules agreed up front. Many US states have adopted the NAIC Insurance Data Security Model Law, which requires a written security program; we build to support yours and to the requirements your compliance adviser sets.
Can you integrate with our agency management system?
Often. It depends on what your vendor exposes: an API, scheduled exports, or ACORD-standard data. We check that first and tell you what is possible before you commit.
Do you build for carriers?
For carriers we build the edges: customer portals, claims intake, broker tools and reporting. Replacing a core policy administration or billing system is a different scale of project, and we would point you elsewhere.
