Generative Engine Optimization That Starts by Measuring What AI Says About You
Generative engine optimization (GEO), also called answer engine optimization (AEO) or AI search optimization, is the work of getting your business mentioned and cited when someone asks ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini or Google's AI Overviews a question you should be the answer to.
We start with measurement, because most GEO is sold without any. Our search agent runs a fixed set of the questions your buyers ask through each AI engine, several times, and records who is named, who is cited and which pages the answers come from. Then we fix what is in your control, on your site and in the sources the engines rely on, and test again. Haider Ali approves the question set, every change and the final report.
This is for you if
- ✓Customers mention finding a competitor through ChatGPT or Google's AI answers, and you want to know why it was not you
- ✓You rank in Google, but AI answers describe your business wrongly or leave it out
- ✓You have been pitched GEO or AEO and want it measured before you pay for it every month
- ✓Your buyers research with AI before they ever visit your website
This is probably not for you if
- ✕You have little presence in ordinary search yet. AI answers draw heavily on pages that already rank and sources that already mention you, so start with SEO.
We would rather tell you now than take the project and disappoint you.
Worth knowing: AI answers change from one run to the next and from one user to another, so a single screenshot of ChatGPT recommending a business proves very little. What means something is a share: out of the same 50 questions, each asked several times, how often you appear compared with your competitors, and whether that number moves after the work.
What you get
A buyer question set
50 to 100 questions your customers really ask, built from search data, sales calls and reviews, and agreed with you before testing.
A visibility baseline
How often you are named and cited across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, next to your main competitors.
A source map
The pages and sites the AI answers draw on for your topics: review sites, directories, articles and competitors' pages.
On-site fixes
Clear facts in plain text, answer-first sections, structured data, and access for the AI search crawlers you choose to allow.
Off-site gaps
Listings, profiles and third-party pages where you are missing or described wrongly, with a plan to correct them honestly.
A retest after 30 days
The same questions run again, so you see what changed in numbers rather than anecdotes.
GEO, AEO, AI SEO: what the names mean
| Term | What people usually mean | How it overlaps |
|---|---|---|
| GEO | Being cited in answers written by AI, such as ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews | Most of the work is the same as AEO |
| AEO | Being the answer to a question: first featured snippets and voice search, now AI answers too | Answer-first content and structured data |
| AI search optimization | A general name for both | Used interchangeably by most providers |
| AI SEO | Either SEO done with AI tools, or SEO for AI answers | We use it for the first, on our AI SEO page |
The labels matter less than the method. Whatever it is called, ask how it will be measured before you pay for it.
What tends to move AI answers
- Being in the sources — AI answers lean on pages that already rank and sites already trusted on the topic. Being listed and described correctly there matters as much as your own site.
- Plain, quotable facts — Prices, locations, specifications and comparisons stated clearly in text, not hidden in images, PDFs or scripts.
- Crawler access — ChatGPT search, Perplexity and others fetch pages with their own crawlers. Blocking them by accident, in robots.txt or a firewall rule, keeps you out of their answers.
- Consistency — The same name, address, prices and claims everywhere, so the models are not choosing between different versions of you.

Ask us first →How it works
Agree the questions
We draft the buyer questions from your search data and customers; you add the ones only you would know.
Measure the baseline
Each question run several times on each engine, with mentions, citations and competitors recorded.
Fix and publish
On-site changes approved by you, and a list of outside sources to correct or claim.
Retest and report
The same questions again after 30 days, with the change in your share of answers.
Who works on it
AI agents from our Engineering and Growth & Marketing divisions do the work, in parallel. Haider Ali, founder and CEO, agrees the plan with you and signs off everything before it reaches you.
Work you can check
Real work that uses the same skills. Every card links to something you can open and inspect yourself.
Answering services compared
Every provider's prices read from its own website, turned into comparable plans, and dated.

Answers from a facts file so it quotes published prices instead of inventing them. The model is fixed on the server and requests are capped, because each one costs money.
Questions
How much do generative engine optimization services cost?
An audit with a 50-question baseline, on-site fixes and a 30-day retest starts at $1,500. Ongoing monthly tracking and fixes start at $600 a month. You see the baseline before deciding on anything ongoing.
Can you guarantee ChatGPT will recommend us?
No, and be wary of anyone who does. AI answers vary between runs and users, and the companies behind them change how they work often. We can measure your visibility, fix what is in your control, and show whether the share of answers that mention you goes up.
What is the difference between GEO and SEO?
SEO aims for a place in the list of search results. GEO aims for a mention inside the answer an AI writes. They overlap heavily, because AI answers draw on pages that rank well, so good SEO is usually the foundation.
Should we block AI crawlers?
It depends on the crawler. Some collect pages to train models; others fetch pages to answer a question in real time and link back to you. Blocking the second kind keeps you out of those answers. We list the crawlers visiting your site and you decide which to allow.
How do we know if AI search sends us customers?
Visits from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Copilot and Gemini show up as referrals in GA4, and we set up a report for them. Many people read the answer and never click, so we also track how often you are mentioned, not just the visits.
